Manousos Chalkiadakis is a renowned Greek ceramicist based in the small Cretan village of Paidohori. His distinctive technique involves first firing his pieces unglazed, then enamelling them with metal oxides, to then fire them once again. From his Venetian-era studio in the foothills of the Leftka Ori, he experiments with jewellery, photography and painting, but is captivated first and foremost by pottery.
